Mackenzie Investments is currently accepting applications for the position of Senior Financial Analyst, Fund Taxation and Distributions within the Financial and Tax Reporting department. Reporting to the AVP, Fund Taxation, the successful candidate will be responsible for tax compliance and monthly, quarterly and annual fund reporting and is a key resource for all of Mackenzie’s and Investors Group’s products (mutual fund trusts / corporations, segregated funds and structured products The successful candidates’ specific responsibilities will include: Tax research – fund, corporate, and exciseEnsuring the completeness, accuracy, timeliness and consistency of reporting department deliverablesAccurate and timely calculation and review of fund distributions and estimatesAccurate and timely completion and review of tax filings including income tax returns, commodity tax returns, charitable foundation filings, limited partnership filings, and foreign jurisdiction tax reportingAnalysis for product initiatives such as mergers, rebalancing and various ad hoc analysisLiaise with various parties such as CRA auditors, external auditors, tax advisors, investment managers, product managers and internal departments within Mackenzie and Investors Group The following qualifications will assist the successful candidate in carrying out these responsibilities: Undergraduate accounting, finance or equivalent degreeAccounting designation, (CGA, CMA or CPA)Minimum 4 years financial services industry / mutual fund experienceDetail oriented with strong organizational skillsExcellent communication skills, both written and verbalExcellent tax research, tax preparation, and analytic skillsAbility to handle multiple projects and tasks and continuously prioritize workAbility to build and maintain relationships with departments across the organizationStrong Microsoft Word and Excel skillsStrong working knowledge of MPower and tax preparation softwareDesire to remain up-to-date with tax laws, regulations, and changes in the mutual fund industryWillingness to learn new reporting systems and seek advancements / improvements in existing processes Internal Applicants:If you are interested in applying for this position please direct applications on-line using the “apply for this job” icon located at the bottom or to the left of the posting.
