Our client, a Consumer Packaged Goods Manufacturer based out of Mississauga, is looking for a Purchasing Manager to develop and implement cost saving initiatives. The company offers a culture of promoting from within, excellent benefits, and a dynamic work environment.  



As part of the Operations Team, the Purchasing Manager will be responsible for performing a diverse range of functions including but not limited to:


Getting goods and services for the best price and value

Leading a team of direct reports

Cutting any waste and unnecessary costs to create a streamlined process and fast production times

Working with suppliers to ensure that key processes are running efficiently and cost-effectively

Building strong working relationships both internally and with key suppliers

Contract management and negotiation

Purchasing of raw materials and packaging

Understanding and keeping up with new trends and regulations in the business

Establishes policies and work instructions

Work with transportation companies negotiating pricing



The following are the minimum requirements to be considered for this role:


University degree or College Diploma in a related discipline

5 or more years of experience in a Procurement role managing a team

PMAC or CPP designation

Experience in consumer goods in a manufacturing environment

Strong computer skills

Excellent negotiation, analytical and problem solving skills

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Strong communicator, confident, articulate, and outgoing
