Reporting to the Head of the Gahcho Kué Project and the Head of Supply Chain, this full time position will be the single point of contact in the project team with responsibility for managing all procurement and supply chain activities for the Gahcho Kué Project owners team inclusive of contracts.

The successful incumbent will define the procurement philosophy for the project, aligning corporate and business unit objectives, ethics, principles and standards and monitoring compliance to this throughout the duration of the project. The position will be based in Toronto, however, travel will be required.

Other responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Developing and managing the hybrid EPCM contract with the owners team;

Leading the Project procurement strategy with the EPCM procurement team;

Providing management direction to assigned project procurement team in all phases of the procurement;

Ensuring that the project procurement team work in close cooperation with the project and package engineers;

Developing the procurement schedule ensuring alignment with the project execution plan;

Supporting DBCI’s policy on Northern Businesses and Community Agreements obligations;

Monitoring the placement and implementation of Purchase Orders, Contracts and Subcontracts and ensuring the relevant systems are up to date.


Completion of a University degree in a related field;

An in depth understanding of the procurement environment with demonstrable experience leading procurement activities;

An in depth understanding of procurement jurisprudence in Canada;

Minimum of five years experience in a procurement environment on large capital projects;

Experience in procurement management or package management for major EPCM contracts;

Knowledge of Canadian suppliers and contracting environment would be an asset.

This is a 24-month contract position.
