Position: Manager, Retail Food Service
Location: Toronto, ON
We are currently recruiting for a Manager to drive the business and operations with our Food Service operations at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, high-profile location in the GTA.
The Manager is responsible for a high quality Food Service operations, including excellence in customer service and maintaining an engaged employee work force and proactive financial performance management.
With a "Can Do" attitude and a "Passion for Excellence", the Manager is responsible for food service operations including: budgeting, financial management and weekly analysis in addition to maintaining both client and Compass standards to assure a safe environment for all patients and employees.
The successful candidate will assure quality control procedures are monitored, maintained and established operating practices are strictly followed.
Retail Food Service: Implementation and ongoing success of retail and marketing programs, catering services, and Branded Concept/QSR units that include popular brands such as Tim Horton's, Pizza Pizza as well as successful Compass programs including the *new* On the Go.
* This position reports to a General Manager and has a team of unionized employees reporting to it.

5+ years retail food service/QSR management experience
Experience working with branded concepts (i.e. Tim Horton's, Pizza Pizza, Second Cup, Teriyaki Experience, Swiss Chalet, Starbucks, Extreme Pita, etc
Culinary background required for menu planning
Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, coach and develop direct reports and front-line staff during times of change and shifting priorities.
Experience with budgets and cost control.
Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
Strong communication skills (verbal and written
Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook) and working knowledge of food service POS/IT systems
Previous contract food service management experience
Current with the latest innovative food trends in retail food with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls and presentation
Previous experience managing in a unionized labour environment
Post secondary degree/diploma in Hospitality and/or Food Service Management, Hotel and Restaurant Management
Advanced FST, Servsafe or equivalent food safety certification
