Purpose of the job:
The purpose of the Inventory Support Clerk is to assist the inventory Manager regarding; performing hands on cycle counts, variance reports and investigations, updating inventory, report generation and other clerical duties required to ensure that the inventory controls in place are supporting the organizations requirements.
Own and drive processes to ensure inventory accuracy and control.
Performing daily inventory cycle counts for; Furniture, Appliances, electronics, bedding, etc
Doing physical cycle counts in the warehouse, as well as in retail location using order picker as per schedule.
Printing reports and verifying reports to inventory counts; investigating any variances to Manager.
Data entry / changes to inventory count into system.
Creating a variety of excel data spreadsheets and reports for Management review / analysis through collection and input.
Drive ownership, provide support and collaboration with the warehouse manager
Demonstrate a sense of urgency in maintaining inventory goals
Any other assignment as required as business needs evolve.
Experience in the Retail industry preferred.
Prior cycle count and variance analysis/ adjustment experience required
Experience with Order picker machine/Lift truck use.
Previous Bar Code experience an asset.
Able to communicate both verbally and in writing.
Strong mathematical skills.
Able to work efficiently as a part of a team as well as independently.
Strong computer literacy required, including above average skills of Excel and e-mail.
Attention to detail in all areas of work.
Good organizational, time management and prioritizing skills.
Strong work ethic and positive team attitude.
Ability to lift 50lbs long periods of walking / standing
Work is conducted in a warehouse environment and requires heavy lifting (up to 50lbs pushing, pulling, bending, walking and standing.
Interacts with employees and management.
Overtime may be required.
Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals.
Lifting or moving materials.
Entry Level position with 2-5 years of experience in related Industry
Experience in using inventory variance reports
Experience working in warehouse environment an asset
Experience resolving inventory variances and cycle counts
Previous experience in dealing with furniture, appliances and electronics an asset
