ICES is currently recruiting a Financial Analyst for areas of responsibility which include accounts receivable, analysis, reconciliations and other related accounting activities. Reporting to the Manager of Financial Operations, the Financial Analyst will be responsible to review project costs, calculate recoverable amounts, and prepare invoices and statements.

Additional position responsibilities include, but may not be limited to:

Interacting with ICES faculty/staff and external collaborators along with funding agencies and granting agencies on billing/cost recovery matters;

Engaging in collection activities and ensuring proper follow up to ensure timely payments;

Reconciling the AR ledger;

Preparing quarterly GST/HST returns to CRA;

Completing monthly reconciliations;

Preparing and completing monthly Intercompany Wire Transfers;

Assisting with revenue forecasting;

Preparing and processing journal entries;

Continually seeking ways to improve business processes to ensure efficient operations;

Assisting with the year-end audit; and

Performing other duties as assigned within the scope of the position.

Qualifications and Skills:

Diploma from an accredited post-secondary institution or certificate in accounting.

Minimum of three (3) or more years of accounting and finance experience.

Actively working towards an accounting designation (CPA

Experience using SAP is considered an asset.

Related experience in the healthcare sector or other not-for-profit environments is considered an asset.

Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to exercise discretion and good judgment.

Fully proficient in the use of MS Office.

Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Ability to independently multi task and prioritize work within tight deadlines.

Tolerance for ambiguity and change.

Committed to continuous learning and professional development.

 

This is a one (1) year full time contract position. ICES offers a competitive compensation package with full benefits, and participation in a defined pension plan with HOOPP (Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan
