Director, Procurement - Network & IT Services - OPE01267-14
As a member of the Procurement & Supply Chain Management organization, the Director - Procurement will takes a lead role in and be accountable for executing network procurement strategies in support to achieve maximum CAPEX and OPEX total value of ownership while achieving continuous supplier performance improvements. The Director will provide leadership to a team of procurement professionals focused on strategic sourcing, supplier relationship development, contract management and compliance for spend categories such as telecommunication network products and services, and hosted services and applications. The expertise and consultative services provided by your team to the business will have a direct impact on customer experience and our goal of becomes the most recommended company in the markets we serve.
This role reports to the Vice President, Procurement - Network and IT Services.
Provide guidance and leadership establishing the organization's procurement priorities and collaborating with senior leadership in supplier organizations to negotiate agreements delivering cost reduction and new revenue generating opportunities
Investigate emerging technologies and companies and leverage these new opportunities
Develop and drive integrated strategy leveraging buy and sell objectives
Support and advise the Vice President in setting enterprise-wide procurement strategies and performance objectives, especially as they relate to delivering total value of ownership through strategic sourcing of services
Proactively manage network vendor maintenance budget; proactively drive EBITDA improvements through OPEX total value of ownership initiatives.

Introduce best-in-class sourcing and project management techniques and practices with a focus on disciplined execution consistently meeting or exceeding internal customer and external supply market expectations
Develop strategies and customized solutions for complex strategic partnership agreements.
Create and foster a high performance and highly engaged team environment, providing leadership, guidance and support to both to your team members as well as the extended team reports and members of the extended team.
Develop and maintain strong and collaborative relationships with cross-functional groups and act as a Trusted Advisor to business unit stakeholder
Lead and coach procurement team members to advance their skills and capabilities to achieve their career goals while also ensuring best practices are utilized across the teams
Implement the tracking of appropriate objectives and measures to substantiate cost savings and demonstrate process efficiencies.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Exceptional relationship management abilities and a proven track record of establishing and maintaining effective internal and external client relationships
Excellent business and financial acumen skills, including;
a proven background in structuring deals, drafting legal agreements, and risk mitigation planning and management
ability to quickly and thoroughly understand business priorities and operations
Proven track record of skillfully mobilizing diverse groups in transformational change
Ability to make effective decisions in an environment with shifting demands, change or ambiguity
Exceptional people leadership skills with demonstrated ability to attract, develop and retain and talent

Competency with Microsoft office suite of tools, contract management and competitive bidding tools, specifically, ARIBA, SAP Contract Life Cycle Management (CLM and e-sourcing tools are assets
Knowledge of telecommunication network products and services, hosted services and applications would be an asset
Required Professional Designation/Certification:
Bachelor degree in Business/Commerce, Engineering, or Supply Chain management. MBA preferred.
Professional designation in Supply Chain Management or equivalent preferred - PMAC SCMP / CPP or equivalent
Professional designations in project management (PMI negotiations, finance, business analytics, or consulting
Minimum 10 years of procurement experience and or combination of engineering, operations, consulting and procurement experience in a large, complex environment
Minimum 5 years of experience in a senior leadership level
Minimum 10 years of experience leading a team
Experience with one or more aspects of finance, legal (contract management regulatory, corporate business development, or project management
Experience in the telecommunications industry or engineering is a strong asset
