The Company:

A highly respected private land development and property management company that is continuing to grow. We are located in Central North Toronto.

The Position:

We have an exciting opportunity for a Commercial Property Accountant reporting to the Controller & Management. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of commercial property management & development, ability to work with team members, leasing department, tenants, strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word, Yardi Genesis, strong communication & writing skills with a minimum of 5 years’ experience.

Requirements:

We have a great opportunity for a Commercial Property Accountant. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

Strong data entry and maintenance of Lease information for Tenants in portfolio

Strong correspondence & communication with Tenants

Strong A/R collections for all Tenants in Commercial Properties

Extremely strong computer skills in Yardi Genesis, and Microsoft Excel

Bank deposits and data entry of all cash receipts

Preparation of rent rolls, rent schedules, A/R reports

Monthly charge postings and invoicing of Tenant charge backs

Analysis and preparation of Tenant statements of account

Reconciliation of additional and percentage rent

Utilities: accounts payable and final reads for unit meters

Bank Reconciliation and monthly statement preparation

Property Taxes: Post & scan municipal tax bills, prepare MPAC information, file vacancy

rebates

Review, administration, and payment of outside leasing commissions

Annual property budget preparation and tenant notification

Year end preparation of aged receivables and tenant deposit report

Liase with Property Manager as necessary regarding tenant-related issues

Preparation of Tenant Estoppel certificates as require by management

Special projects and other analysis as assigned

The Candidate:

The successful candidate will be a team player who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and likes to take the initiative. They should be able to prioritize, multi task, and pay attention to detail. Proficiency with MS Office and Yardi Real Estate is necessary. Strong oral/written communication and interpersonal skills are expected.
