Lucas’ Bio:

A versatile cellist, multi-instrumentalist, songwriter and illustrator, Lucas Tensen (B.A. Music Performance - Cello & Voice) facilitates gatherings and performances where people experience the art of deep listening and improvisational sounding as a way to explore their creative potential and share heart-based wisdom.

Musical journeys have taken him to Senegal to learn the kora, (a 21-stringed harp) and to Peru where he was immersed in the songs (icaros) of Amazonian shamans.  Lucas is also the creator of a unique music methodology for voice and strings called ‘Wild Peace, Fierce Love!’. Based on classical/folk and original melodies, this unique illustrated songbook playfully guides students of all ages through the fundamentals of music in a way that is both visually and emotionally expressive.

He performs in a monthly concert series in St. Anne's Church and is the creator of The Pots & Pans Symphony, (a collection of vintage pots that sing like singing bowls  Lucas has almost a decade of teaching experience, and offers individual or group lessons for voice, cello and kora.
