Ernst & Young's Transaction Advisory Services practice is currently looking for an Analyst to join our real estate team in Toronto. Ernst & Young's Transaction Real Estate Practice provides real estate advisory services to owners, investors, lenders, users and governments.
Serve as a member of multiple client engagement teams. Participate in real estate advisory engagements in a fast-paced, service-oriented business environment. We are involved in the analysis of a variety of property types including multi-family residential, office, retail, hotel, industrial, mixed-use, and special-use properties.
Development of financial models
Valuation of various types of real estate assets and portfolios in support of various types of engagements including core valuation, due-diligence and transactions
Synthesize market information to be used in valuation, appraisals, competitive analysis, industry analysis, negotiation support and various other applications
Assist in real estate due diligence for buy-side or sell-side transactions
Continuous review of Canadian real estate market trends
Prepare and deliver presentations to clients
Support the team in identifying and exploring potential new business
Critically review valuations and models of real estate companies, funds, and other property vehicles
Support the team in business development and marketing initiatives across the country
We are interested in candidates who have:
Undergraduate degree (preferably with a focus on finance or real estate)
Willingness to work towards a CBV, AACI, or CFA designation
An understanding of the commercial real estate industry in Canada
Strong project management skills
Strong computer and financial modeling skills including Microsoft, Excel and ARGUS
Understanding of key real estate value drivers, risks and opportunities
Ability to work in a team environment
Knowledge or interest in real estate processes, operations, and/or asset management would be strongly preferredThe successful candidate for this position will have strong written and verbal communication/presentation skills, superior analytical skills, demonstrated project and/or people management skills and have been recognized for their "roll up the sleeves" attitude and high levels of creative energy and enthusiasm.
